Global Markets


Global Markets combines the sales, trading and structuring of a wide range of financial markets products.


This incorporates Debt Trading, including FX, Rates, Credit, Structured Finance and Emerging Markets; Equities and equity-linked products; Exchange-traded and over-the-counter derivatives and Money Market and securitised instruments.


Coverage of institutional clients is provided by the Institutional Client Group, while Research provides analysis of markets, products and trading strategies for clients.


Position Overview


Job Title: LatAm Economist


Corporate Title: Vice President


Department: Emerging Markets – Latin America


Location: 60 Wall St, New York


Overview (of the department and job role):
Macroeconomic coverage of Latin America, with focus on Chile and Argentina


Key Responsibilities :
Analyzing key economic and political developments in Andean countries and their implications for financial markets.


Producing macroeconomic forecasts for the Emerging Markets and Global Economic Research departments.


Writing daily, weekly and monthly reports including analysis of key economic and political developments and the economic outlook for Andean countries.


Interacting with fixed-income clients of Global Markets / CB&S, through conference calls and client visits.


Organizing client trips to the countries under coverage.


The ideal candidate will have (list key skills, experience, degrees, etc)


Ph.D. or Master’s degree in economics


At least five years of experience


Experience analyzing Latin American economies


Fluency in Spanish and English


Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and statistical software (EViews, Stata, etc.)
