Communications Specialist based in Atlanta

Position Overview


As Communications Specialist your role will be to lead tactical communications focusing on drafting clear, concise, engaging messaging related to specific initiatives or themes in GBS, and executing baseline GBS communications plans using strategies established by the Communications Strategy Lead who you will report to. You will also work closely with the Change Leads and Change Execution Specialists to support specific clients’ initiatives that need change management support .


On a daily basis you will write and execute communications required to successfully deliver on those initiatives within the innovative, effective communications and engagement strategies established by the Communications Strategy Lead, including routines, vehicles and messaging (e.g. quarterly town hall events, monthly e-newsletters, internal site content).


In your role you will partner with the Change Leads and Change Execution Specialists to prepare and deliver communications plans and tactics targeting specific audiences with clear, relevant messages reflecting broad GBS strategic themes defined by the Communications Strategy Lead and the GBS strategic plan.


In addition, you will potentially support an evolving collection of change initiatives based on complexity, capacity and experience.


Lastly, you will be responsible for partnering with the Communications Strategy Lead to maintain and nurture the GBS Communications Network , a team of resources (up to 5 hours per quarter) from each geography and GBS Line of Business (LOB) who serve as local resources helping to reinforce and inform two-way communications messaging and capability to ensure participation and representation of all local operations.


Key Responsibilities


Partner with Communications Strategy Lead to develop and execute innovative and effective communications and engagement strategies that inform, involve and excite all GBS associates, clients and partners

Works with Communications Strategy Lead to draft written messages reflecting key GBS themes from specific communications plans for all communications (baseline, one-time periodic and tactical communications tied to change initiatives)

Drafts core messages related to specific GBS themes and/or client change initiatives to communicate specific, relevant messages with all audiences in order to drive understanding, support and proof points or action

Partners with Coke Studios Creative Lead to develop communications materials (e.g. town halls, presentations, written communications newsletter and site content, FAQs, talking points, emails, video scripts) providing written content for those relevant vehicles for all audiences.

Distribute communications to key audiences using various methods (e.g., webcasts, videoconferences, internet/intranet channels, subscription email blast services) in order to reach key constituencies.

Partners with other Communications Specialists and the Coca-Cola Studios Creative Lead to maintain appropriate communications templates and accounts (e.g. Campaign Monitor) for effective, timely, relevant communications to target audiences.

Participates with Communications Strategy Lead in GBS Communications Network to ensure relevant, two-way engagement and support for global themes and initiatives translated and assessed for local engagement and reaction.

What you need to be successful


As Communications Specialist you will execute targeted, tactical communications emerging from change initiatives from the Change Lead and Change Execution Specialists in line with the innovative, effective communications strategy developed by the Communications Strategy Lead. Therefore, you will require strong strategic communications and visioning skills .


Along with this, your role will be to execute, assess and fine-tune most effective communications and engagement routines and vehicles, partnering with internal teams to adopt strategies that are informed by industry best practices. Therefore a more than solid knowledge of market practices and trends will help you to deliver in a successful way. Since to some degree you will also be responsible to prepare external-facing communications, you should be able to effectively identify a wide range of target audiences and stakeholders to efficiently support driving change initiatives.


As the communications you will develop should have the potential to resonate with a broad range of GBS and client stakeholders from senior executives to line employees in different locations around the world, you should know how to develop specific, relevant and understandable communication items and engagement messages articulated in effective vehicles .

Education: Bachelor´s Degree


Related Work Experience: This role requires a minimum of 3-5 years´ experience in designing and delivering communications in a global environment.
