FP&A Analyst - Cargill Malt - Cargill - Minneapolis, MN
This posting has 2 openings: one will be supporting North America Malt Business, while the other will be supporting the Global Barley Origination function.
All applicants will be considered for both.
The FP&A Business Analyst provides analytical support for the global Malt business. This position will be allocated to each of the four regions in which we operate and the Rgl FP&A Business Analysts will also be tagged to a global function or operational area (i.e. Commercial; Strategic Pricing; Operations; Barley Supply Chain; S&OP). The role will cover all aspects of the business where data analysis, ad hoc reporting or business discussion are required. Offering new ideas and business insights, the incumbent in this job will work with the regional Malt Leadership Team and with the Malt Executive Leadership Team to provide business and financial perspectives and professional advice supporting an effective, measurable and consistent decision making process.
Principal Accountabilities
60% Financial Planning & Analysis (Regional & Functional)
• Support the Malt Management Team in the corresponding region and provide financial insight into the performance of the business.
• Identify, assess and recommend action plans targeting significant value opportunities contributing to the BU P&L
• Work with the global Function or Process owner to align data and process to enable a meaningful analysis.
• Monitor and track operational performance, analyses, and call for action as required.
• Translate financial metrics into key insight for operational and strategic decision making.
• Support the preparation of the business plan, forecasts and budget.
• Provide financial and business analysis on projects and key initiatives including business case preparation and commitment models.
• Deliver results and drive for continuous improvement while holding themselves and others accountable.
20% Process Improvement
• Support the implementation of common processes and harmonization of data.
• Establish key performance metrics to identify gaps in the processes and opportunities for improvement.
• Utilize tools, benchmarking and systems to get to a more efficient and harmonized analysis.
20% Ad hoc project support
• Actively support the Malt Regional Leadership Team and the Executive Leadership team on business and financial requests and calculations.
• Collect, analyses and use information accurately and effectively to support decisions making.
• Support and actively participate in FP&A team projects and initiatives.
20-30% travel required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Analysis, Business Economics or Finance
• 4+ years of Business Analysis, Strategic Business Development or Finance experience
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills (deep-dive and high-level summary capability)
• Natural ability to identify, assess, design, lead and follow up business improvement initiatives
• Demonstrated success in business partnering initiatives
• Project management, presentation (powerpoint) and financial/business modeling experience
• Proven success in leading change and challenging the status quo
• Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence all levels of the organization
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Enthusiastic; hands-on and can-do attitude
• Strong MS Excel skills and proficiency in MS Powerpoint
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA degree
• Experience modeling analytical tools (eg Business Objects, Tableau, SAP, etc.)
