Category Manager Demand and Indirects, WestLac - Diageo - Miami, FL





Context:

• WestLAC is one of the 4 markets within the LAC Region and is comprised of 40 countries. The region is a multicultural, multi-customer, multi-channel and multi-currency environment with different taxations and regulations.

• It is comprised by 4 business units: Argentina, Chile-Peru-Bolivia & Ecuador, Free Trade Zones & Border and Caribbean and Central America.

Purpose:

• Accountable for all procurement activities and deliverables of the Demand Category in WestLac, including the search and achievement of productivities through procurement activities and perfect compliance to the CC&E protocols of Procurement

• The scope of the role embraces:

o Management of the Demand-Procurement activities across all 5 Business Units of the Market with a high number of contracts

o Proactive engagement and leadership with stakeholders internal to WestLac, globally in Diageo and externally to Diageo to continuous search of opportunities

• This is a highly impactful position, requiring a major hands-on approach to drive the performance whilst having the capacity to embark longer term and higher level conversations and projects in order to set and drive strategy stetting. Becoming a much more productive business is one of the top priorities of Diageo globally in the next years and WestLac is one of the high-focus markets in this area. Demand is one of the highest category of spend with a huge focus and this role is expected to drive both effectiveness and efficiency in this category.


Key Outputs/Deliverables:

• Accountable to implement and follow the Diageo Way of Category Management, Global Procurement Principles and Policies

• Accountable to deliver the productivities and savings targets across the Demand sub-categories of spend in WestLac

• Accountable to achieve all the CC&E Procurement-related goals and targets of the Demand Category in WestLac

• Accountable to ensure that the suppliers deliver the service-performance as per contracts and SLA’s

• Responsible to design, implement and lead the Supplier Relationships Management processes, including scorecards and QBR’s and Annual Strategic Reviews as per ABC segmentation of suppliers

• Accountable to show and deliver the business cases and the ROI of any project in which he/she is involved

• Responsible to represent WestLac in global demand procurement forums

• Responsible to develop Sourcing strategies where Westlac is Responsible and to guarantee Westlac needs are addressed in all Global strategies through the Global teams.


Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Bachelor degree, ideally business-related. MBA and Legal/Contractual expertise are a plus.

• Fluency in English and Spanish required.

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in either

o Procurement in Demand Categories in a CPG company

o Media/Marketing Agency, acting as a key account or similar

• Proven influencing and negotiation skills at all level of the organization and strong leadership skills.

• Proven people manager skills with capability to manage remote teams/direct reports.

• Proven experience working with external organizations, negotiation either as a buyer or as a seller.

• Previous demonstrated experience in driving performance, through boldness in execution and attention to detail whilst being extremely performance-focus
