QA Manager - Sony Music Entertainment - New York, NY

The Orchard is a leading distributor of digital music and film. We have almost 9 million songs in our catalogue, which accounts for over 20% of the music that’s currently available on Spotify and iTunes. Our growing film business has more than 10 theatrical releases planned in 2016 and a 2015 Oscar Nominated documentary film. The Orchard’s YouTube channels have 100 billion lifetime views.

The Orchard is looking for a QA Manager to lead our talented team of QA Automation Engineers.


Responsibilities:
Work with a cross-functional management team to understand new features, think through edge cases, and devise testing strategies. Understand how all elements of our software ecosystem work together and develop QA approaches appropriate for our architecture. Guide the evolution and maturation of our test frameworks through awareness of cutting edge technology and techniques. Identify gaps in test coverage, assess risk, and prioritize according to business value. Act in a hands-on role partnering with QA team to solve particularly challenging cases and to share knowledge and best practices. Set processes for triaging production bugs and reporting metrics to management. Manage, mentor, and lead a team of QA Engineers.


Qualifications:
Experience leading teams and mentoring employees. Solid programming knowledge, Ruby a plus. Proficiency in browser automation using WebDriver from Selenium or Watir. Familiarity with microservice architecture in a CI/CD environment a plus. Experience keeping tests under distributed source control, such as git. Demonstrate solid understanding of the business to properly characterize risk, impact and priority.
