JOB SUMMARY :
As part of Master Data Management team, this position is a key contributor to enable the organization to leverage data as an enterprise asset. This position oversees the execution of data migration activities for specific data domain. Activities include gathering functional requirements, producing technical specification, and firming up test and deployment plans. The Senior Analyst is responsible for building extracts, transforming and construction of master data, and creating load processes or programs. These migration activities require working across multiple business areas to understand data usage and implications on business modules and third party systems. In the Saputo environment this is across divisions located in four major regions; Canada, USA, Australia, and Argentina. In this position, it will be important that the Senior Analyst establish key relationships with process leads, technical leads, data producers, and data owners. This includes driving communication and managing activities with business and technical teams leading to a successful migration while continuing to support operations and MDM maintenance activities.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for managing data migration and governance lifecycle activities for data objects while supporting MDM operation activities. Maintains ownership of the specifications and relevant documentations related to extraction, enrichment, transformation, and data loads. Work closely with functional process leads and key users in defining specifications, developing transformation tools and resolving errors. Responsible for data domain build, conversion and error corrections processes during the ETL load processes.This process includes understanding legacy source and business processes to enable transformation. During the transformation process; the analyst must oversee extract, data review, mapping, cleansing and construction activities. This process also requires identification and resolution of data quality issues, such as uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness in a cost-effective and timely fashion. Once information is ready for deployment; the technical analyst will assist with the planning, staging, deployment and post go-live support. This includes Mock conversions and testing leading up to the final productions deployments. A key responsibility is to ensure that there are good test scripts, test sign-offs, and back-out plans where necessary;
- Responsible for business and technical interviews and communications leading to both business and technical decisions. Responsible for documents coming from these interviews such as workflow, functional and technical specifications, and solid repeatable test plans;
- Responsible for ensuring that all data migration and conversion follows change control best practices and project controls with a focus on delivering on scope, budget, and schedule. Need someone who has the ability to plan their work in a structured way, report progress metrics according to a defined framework, use provided management tools, etc. Able to make decisions and raise issues to influence delivery on time and on budget. Responsible for status reporting to IT, MDM, and business teams. This will also include regular reporting to management, which can be forward to PMO and sender leadership;
- Responsible for sharing information and knowledge with co-workers, technical teams, and business teams to influence growth and continuous improvement. Serve as level three support for the MDM and business operation teams. Travel up to 30 percent;
- Willing to share new Ideas which can benefit Saputo. Determine and seek out new knowledge, techniques, and processes that could influence current processes and future improvements. Maintain personal network of professionals; internal and external to Saputo.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Systems or equivalent work experience. Certifications are plus; PMP, OCP, ICCP, SQL, IBM Information Management Cert, SAP Cert., etc.;
- Bilingual (Spanish, French, and English) preferred – but not a must;
- Three plus year experience with data transformation and System integration showing advance knowledge of data exchange, validation, and loading techniques using tools such as iDocs, EDI, or other data exchange tools. This experience must have demonstrated a desire to use structure and reusable designs;
- Two plus years experienced data analysis, profiling, cleansing, and load reconciliation, which include conversions. A plus would be experience with data modeling, replication, web-services, and custom models;
- Experience operating in a complex, fast-paced, and knowledge sharing environment with interdependencies spanning multiple work-streams, teams, business divisions, geographies, time zones, & languages;
- Have demonstrated advance knowledge of business applications with a solid understanding of master data domains and their impact on other modules, business processes, and system configuration;
- Ability to understand and respect different cultural requirements;
- A plus is experience serving on cross sectional teams showing positive results for your organization.
- Migration tool experience such as in-house design processes or SAP tools. Examples are: Data Services (BODS), LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench), BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interface), database connectors, FTP, SQL, programming languages, and MS office products. A plus would be experience using MS VBA or SAP Roadrunner, or Winshuttle;
- Experience with multiple ERP and other system implementations with strong integration and general information sharing;
- Experience with functional requirement gathering and documentation oriented towards implementing new systems and onboarding from other legacy systems;
- Advance experience with MS Office; Visio, and MS Project; Experience using VBA is a plus;
- Experience using multiple database models such as DB2, MS Access, SQL, and Oracle. Knowledge of SAP data model a strong plus;
- Experience using FTP, EDI, Trusted Link, and connecting to AS2 servers is a plus;
- Experience processing information into or from multiple formats such as ASCII, excel, comma delimited, or other flat file;
- Experience with MDM tools a plus (SAP MDG, IBM Infosphere) is a plus.
