Your Function:
The Network Engineers role is to work closely with the other technology teams to support and recommend new technology to the different business entity’s within the Rabobank NAW.
Ideal Candidate will have the following Key credentials and experience:
Primary responsibilities will include managing, maintaining, improving and troubleshooting all items related to the LAN, MAN, WAN and Telecoms
Assist head office to maintain and troubleshoot WAN related issues
Ensure that all NAW network and telecom technologies continue to run smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
Play a central role in ongoing network design, implementation, recommendations and troubleshooting
Support all NAW IT, clients and business entities within NAW with network and telecoms support
Research, develop, and implement new technologies and best practices for network technology practices
Perform proactive daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all network hardware components
Adheres to various SLAs and ensures documented uptime and performance across the LAN/WAN
Maintain compliance with various head office and corporate standards
Maintain and update network documentation (topology, documentation, ip addressing, subnets, etc)
Perform off-hours maintenance as needed, in order to resolve issues and/or implement new technologies and changes
Safeguarding all network resources from both internal and external intrusion and/or threats
Implement and maintain BCP/Disaster Recovery protocols and procedures
Assist in ensuring 24/7 availability of services and infrastructure in our production environment
Respond to after-hours emergencies, lead the mitigation and resolution processes
Develop internal documentation for key systems and services
Participate in scalability and growth decisions of the network and telecom infrastructure
Consult with vendors and salespeople to discuss new products and upgrades to make recommendations
Project Manage all Network and Telecom related projects
Strong communication skills
Solid documentation experience (Visio, Excel, Word)
Interface with Audit, Security, Legal, Compliance and Change Management groups to maintain accepted best practices
Understanding of TCP/IP Network concepts
Experience with IP Address Management
Experience with Fiber and DWDM
Experience with routing protocols (BGP and OSPF)
Experience with Layer2 and 3 switches
Experience with VoIP
Experience with Cisco and Juniper routers
Experience with Network Access Control
Experience with Avaya Call Manager
Experience with SIP
Cisco CCNA or CCNP **(preferred but not required)
