Software Engineer - Microsoft technologies - UDig - Arlington, VA

Contract – Arlington, Virginia

UDig has a contract position available with a company located in Arlington, Virginia. Our client is seeking a Software Engineer – Microsoft technologies. We’re looking for someone to work with our client’s offshore development team (Argentina) to help support and enhance an existing web site built to help their employees track the work they do on a day-to-day basis. (Specifically, an application called “Mercury” which tracks research, writing, proposal and contract progress.) Bringing on a contractor will free up an Argentinian counterpart to diversify their efforts. This is scoped as an initial 90 day level of effort although it could certainly extend or evolve into an eventual FTE opportunity with our client. For candidate consideration, our client is in the non-profit space and leans Libertarian, meaning their over-arching mission is to support political and economic themes consistent with that label. (i.e. emphasizes small government, personal liberty, economic autonomy, etc. Some have described Libertarianism – and by comparison our end client – as fiscally conservative but socially more liberal.) Candidates need not be Libertarian, per se, but should be aware of the mission with the non-profit.

Regarding the technical attributes, some opportunities to get into SQL Server Integration Services or SharePoint may be available as needs become available and time allows.
