Our Scholastic design team is currently seeking a Designer to work closely with the Art Director to concept and create high

quality designs for both trade hardcovers and paperbacks. Our group works

closely with Editorial on both YA (ages 12 and up) and middle grade (ages 8–12)

novels. The job also includes the design of interiors for these titles.


The candidate will be responsible for seeing each book

through the design process from conception to final proofs. Required skills

include a strong knowledge of typography and a proficiency in Adobe Creative

Suite – InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. Another part of the job will be to

manage offsite talent, which includes freelance illustrators and designers.


A Bachelor’s degree in illustration/design is

preferred with a minimum of 2 to 5 years design experience.
