We have an Electrician opening at our RockTenn Folding Carton facility in Clinton, IA, which manufactures folding cartons for the consumer packaging industry.
Job Summary:
Primary duties include providing safe and timely electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution of equipment throughout the facility. This position will have a primary responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment, and assisting other skilled trades.
Essential Functions:
Have a thorough understanding of power distribution systems and AC/DC motors and controls.Coordinates with assigned foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
Fabricates equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts.
Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
Performs routine and preventive maintenance as needed.
Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
Have understanding of variable frequency drives, programmable logic controllers and lighting systems.
Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate issues.
Position also requires good mechanical and basic machinist skills.
Requirements
Valid Iowa Electrician License preferred
Five (5) years experience required, electronics degree of journeyman apprenticeship preferred
Have good computer knowledge and ability to multi-task
Must pass Company written and practical test
Must be available to work any shift/day including a 4 shift continuous schedule
Must pass pre-employment drug screen
