Position Information:
Citi Holdings holds a diverse portfolio ($66B) of non-core businesses and assets globally, ranging from mortgages, credit cards, personal loans and deposits to insurance, and alternative investments, , including the 3 LatAm consumer businesses (Argentina, Brazil and Colombia) transferred from Citicorp in 1Q 2016 .


The Business Strategy Group provides advisory analysis for the senior management of Citi Holdings (CEO, CFO and business heads) in key decisions that will drive the future of the business.


The small size and high caliber of the team drives a focus on high impact projects. Examples of recent work include: refining Holdings go-forward strategy, developing the analytical framework for asset sales prioritization, analyzing options for potential divestures of Citi Holdings businesses, evaluating and optimizing Holdings regulatory capital requirements, and assessing competitor positioning of non-core operations and key trends impacting the Holdings portfolio of businesses.


Responsibilities:
Focus Areas Include:Strategy Development:
Lead projects across their lifecycle: identifying and structuring the problem, developing solutions, communicating project results


Develop and refine go-forward strategy plan for Holdings


Perform deep dives on specific businesses to re-assess strategies and opportunities


Valuation and Financial Modeling:
Conduct detailed financial modeling for new initiatives and analyze asset disposition scenarios, working closely with Finance and M&A teams


Carry out business valuations; evaluate structural considerations and exit options for portfolio assets


Evaluate impact of asset sales and other portfolio actions on regulatory capital (CCAR capital)


Presentation Development:
Develop presentations for senior management and Board of Directions, synthesizing key findings of analyses and recommendations


Present key findings to team leaders and Holdings management


Research:
Conduct in-depth research to support business strategies and identify trends across key Citi Holdings business drivers such as expenses, credit, asset trends, risk and operational functions


A nalyze key competitive and macro trends for Citi Holdings businesses


Development Opportunities:
Gain deep understanding of various business lines in Citi Holdings portfolio (mortgages, personal loans, insurance, alternative investments)


Opportunity to have a significant impact on the business and influence the future direction of the organization


Develop strong working relationships with a variety of Citi Holdings business units and functional partners, including Business Heads, Treasury, M&A, Finance and Risk


Broad exposure to senior management across functions and businesses


Exposure to a variety of topics in a fast-paced environment with challenging, multi-faceted assignments

Qualifications


7+ years post-undergraduate experience in financial services industry


Banking and consulting experience preferred


Strong quantitative and analytical skills, excellent problem solving abilities


Expertise in financial modeling (forecasting, valuation) and ability to analyze financial statements


Ability to see big picture and extract insights from data analysis


Ability to build presentations that convey a clear story supported by data findings


Highly motivated and self-driven, ability to multi-task productively, and strong result orientation


Attention to detail, a must


High degree of adaptability required in a fast-moving and demanding work environment


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team
