The Global Accounting Manager is a business partner providing leadership and inspiration to the CRM Accounting team. The Global Accounting Manager oversees CRM’s financial reporting and management information, analysis, daily profit and loss reconciliation, BU profit sharing, and CRM-wide internal control. This role will also be responsible for partnering with business and leading the enhancement and creation of key metrics and financial analysis for CRM, delivering value-added analysis and insights to the business.
This is an intellectually challenging role not only because our products are diverse and specialized, but also because our commercial teams are continually developing new products and markets. This role is a critical member of the CRM Finance Leadership team and works very closely with other CRM areas including Operations, Trading, Compliance, Middle Office, Credit ,and Marketing.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the actions of the team, be a proven leader, while communicating actively with all levels of CRM, Cargill, and BU management.
Principle Accountabilities:

Provide inspirational leadership and guidance to the Accounting team. Manage all aspects of staff planning, training, performance management, and development of the team. Set KPIs and priorities for the team and manage change in a fast paced, rapidly growing environment. Retain high employee engagement. 35%
- Key business partner of the CRM Leadership Team. Ensure new business initiatives are supported and executed promptly with appropriate controls and least disruption. Partner with commercial, IT, and other internal and external finance teams. 25%
- Oversee daily, monthly, quarterly and year end accounting and financial planning and analysis processes including financial reporting and management information, foreign currency exposures, budgeting, gross margin and expense analysis, Corporate and tax reporting, financial and internal audits, and any other accounting related inquiry or issue. Ensure financial and management reporting is completed accurately and timely, driving process changes to ensure efficiency, setting KPI’s and maintaining relationships with corporate centers and shared services. CRM works with over 35 Cargill BUs and delivers intercompany statements, FAS 157/161 information, and profit sharing reports which require education and coordination with many intercompany counterparties.

- Provide insight to the business, and leadership to new business initiatives, including managing multiple and changing priorities. Empower team to problem solve and deeply learn the business. Act as an SME for CRM’s system implementation and provide leadership to the design and testing of the inventory system and general ledger to meet business and corporate requirements. 15%
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of accounting experience
- 4+ years of previous management experience
- 2+ years working in a trading business or business utilizing futures, options, swaps or other financial products

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with and accounting for FX
- Strong technical accounting skills and GAAP knowledge, especially with FAS 133, 157, and 161
- Understanding of IRIS and Summit
