The Loews Chicago Hotel is currently seeking a Busser to join the Rural Society team. Rural Society is a contemporary Argentine steakhouse from nationally renowned master of Latin cuisine Chef Jose Garces. Inspired by his travels to South America, Rural Society is at once rustic and luxurious, bringing the energy and sophistication of Buenos Aires to Chicago. Our menu and primarily South American wine list, combined with our warm hospitality and welcoming décor, transport you far from the bustle of the city to the sweeping cattle ranches and grill-fired kitchens of Argentina.
Opened March 2, 2015, Loews Chicago Hotel features 400 guestrooms, including 25 suites, more than 25,000 square feet of innovative meeting space, multiple outdoor terraces for guest and function uses, spa/fitness center and an outdoor rooftop including a pool overlooking the city.
Boasting city and lake views from the guest rooms, the property is located just one block north of the Chicago River and two blocks east of North Michigan Avenue, in the heart of Chicago. The hotel is part of a highly visible 52-story tower comprised of the Loews Chicago Hotel and 390 luxury residential apartments.
The Busser position is responsible for assisting servers in providing food and beverage service to guests dining in the restaurant. Resets tables prior to the sitting of the next guest.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
• Performs all opening and closing duties as listed on side work assignment sheet.
• Applies teamwork skills at all times and assists co-workers when time permits.
• Stocks and/or restocks all service stations as needed.
• Greets all guests and gives intelligent and accurate information and direction.
• Buses, cleans and resets tables according to standards
• Assist servers with food and beverage service.
• Refills coffee, tea and water for all guests.
• Breakdown trays at the dish stand.
• Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment, work area, and dining room.
• Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
• Attends scheduled meeting and training classes.
• Remains current with hotel information and changes.
• Complies with hotel policies and rules and uniform and grooming procedures.
• Encourages a positive attitude among employees and treats other employees and guest with courtesy and respect.
• Is polite, friendly, and helpful to the guests, management, and fellow employees.
• Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment, and work area.
• Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
• Complies with safety regulations and procedures.
• Complies with hotel policies and rules.
• Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards.
• Must be able to carry and use large banquet trays.
• Must be able to work outside.
• Understand our service standard on service and clearing tables.
