Your Function:
The FAR department provides the foundation for Rabobank’s knowledge based food and agribusiness banking activities globally. The insight and thought leadership provided by FAR assist with both bank and client strategies with the objective to develop commercial opportunities and to provide a key point of difference from Rabobank’s competitors. The contribution of this role is primarily within the dairy sector for the North American region and associated client and stakeholder relationships. There is additional contribution within the global FAR dairy team.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Undertake research and analysis of the dairy sector for internal and external stakeholders

Prepare research publications targeted at rural, business banking and corporate clients

Prepare and give presentations at rural client events and corporate visits

Undertake strategic analysis of companies operating within the target sectors, as required

Identify and refer commercial opportunities within the target sectors for Rabobank in rural, business or corporate banking, finance and mergers/acquisitions

Provide research input into credit policies and proposals covering the target sectors as required

Provide media commentary on key issues relating to the target sectors

Participate in sector teams for the target sectors within Rabobank’s international Food and Agribusiness Research division

Your Profile:
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in a discipline with application in food and agribusiness – agriculture, economics, food science, commerce, management or other

At least three years work experience in a related professional role

Postgraduate qualifications (Masters, MBA, PhD) desirable but not essential

Job Skills and Knowledge:
Strong research and analytical skills, gained in either a corporate or industry based position

Quantitative analysis skills in either a financial or non-financial context

Qualitative analysis and logical inference skills – a capacity to identify key trends ahead of others

Excellent writing skills

High quality presentation and communication skills

Advanced skills in Excel and Powerpoint

Manage priorities in a multi-project workload, working to deadlines

Identify, plan and conduct analysis to deliver results against key strategic goals

Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of credit and banking, are desirable
