Sr. Corporate Accountant - CST Industries, Inc. - Kansas City, MO
We are looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant in our Kansas City, MO location. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Vice President, Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Responsibilities Prepares timely and accurate consolidated financial statements Maintains the corporate general ledger Assists with the preparation of income tax returns by compiling information and interacting with external tax preparers Maintains fixed asset ledger for both book and tax purposes Prepares and files sales tax returns and manages any sales tax audits Responsible for completion of secondary audits (401(k), worker’s compensation, small international subsidiary, etc.) Involvement in completion of annual consolidated financial statement audit Assist with Treasury functions – cash management, cash forecasting, etc. Prepares various financial and non-financial reports as required Prepares account reconciliations as required (on a daily, weekly and monthly basis) Participation in the budgeting/forecasting process Exposure in International setting preferred (foreign subsidiaries, foreign statutory audits, etc.). Formal Education & Certification Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Knowledge & Experience 5+ years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus Strong working knowledge of GAAP Familiar with a variety of business & accounting concepts, practices, and procedures Proficient user of Microsoft office products.
