System Engineer - Sony Music Entertainment - New York, NY

The Orchard is a leading distributor of digital music and film. We have almost 20 million songs in our catalogue, which accounts for over 20% of the music that’s currently available on Spotify and iTunes. Our growing film business has more than 10 theatrical releases planned in 2016 and a 2015 Oscar Nominated documentary film. The Orchard’s YouTube channels have 100 billion lifetime views.

The Orchard is looking for a System Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:
Ensure the availability and continuity of The Orchard services, from development to production. Deployment, operation, maintenance, and support of The Orchard’s production systems and ancillary services systems infrastructure. Participate in requirements gathering and definition. Help troubleshoot issues at all levels of our stack – network, applications, hardware and services. Jointly create, with development, performance benchmark tests for applications and services. Deploy automation tools and processes to help scale operations. Participate in capacity planning, scalability and growth analysis. Develop internal documentation for key systems and services. Some on-call duty with the possibility of after-hours escalation.

Qualifications:
Strong experience with Linux and Windows Administration. Experience configuration and maintenance of on premises systems. Experience with AWS configuration and administration. Proven track record of VMWare Administration (storage, network and application). Networking chops (Cisco and Force10). Windows Domain Administration (Active Directory/DNS/DHCP). SAN Administration. Configuration management chops (Chef, Puppet, Ansible). Experience with monitoring and logging all systems and services (Nagios, ELK, New Relic). Experience with container technologies (Docker).

Bonus Points: Powershell scripting experience. Familiarity with wireless network administration. Familiarity with Security Devices (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, etc). MySQL Administration.
