2D Artist (Generalist) - SGN - Culver City, CA

Â Our core technology allows developers to plug into a scalable backend, flexible game frameworks, analytics and cross-platform methodologies. Regular tasks to be performed include:

• Conceptualize, design and create highly refined Illustrations and graphic art for games in a friendly, accessible style for mobile games


• Design concepts for game-play screens, maps, structures, units, motion graphics, UI and particle effects.


• Create and design symbol illustrations, logos, menus, UIs, buttons, etc.


• Must possess high degree of expertise in creative thinking and technical abilities.


• Mentor, train and communicate to team members on art skills and techniques.


• Work on multiple products and have ability to multitask.


• The ideal candidate should be a generalist, able to solve problems across multiple platforms and pipelines.

Specifically, we’re looking for:

• Expert level in Photoshop, Illustrator or Flash


• Shipped at least 1 mobile projects from concept to completionÂ


• Great sense of line and form, color and lighting, human anatomy, and both character and environmental design, in a variety of styles.


• Ability to thumbnail and conceptualize ideas quickly.


• Experience with Maya a big plus.


• Experience animating in Flash a big plus


• AS3, Unity3D a huge plus!


• Strong passion for gaming.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills.


• Excellent organization and efficient time management skills are required.


• Proven ability to work effectively with small to large teams in a deadline-driven environment.


• Bachelor degree in Fine Arts or Illustration is preferred.


• 5-8 years of experience in illustration, graphic design, concept art.


• 1-2 years of lead experience a plus.


• Must currently reside within the Los Angeles Area.
