The Role: The Media Licensing Manager – Latin America will perform a wide variety of marketing, partnership and deal management functions on behalf of Bloomberg’s Media’s Content Service team, with a particular focus on Latin America. This position is based in our New York office, but also open to the Miami office location as well. The individual in this position will be a self starter and team orientated.
Responsibilities:
- Support joint venture (JV) partners (i.e. El Financiero / Bloomberg) in the territory with marketing, programming and business development support. Work with Executive Producer and various internal Bloomberg teams on various JV related projects.
- Lead person and project manager responsible for conversion of Bloomberg Television’s Latam and Brazil feeds from Standard Definition to High Definition. Will have close contact with operations, marketing and broadcast team internally, as well as technical contacts for all current Bloomberg TV distribution partners.
- Attend and participate in various sales conferences throughout the region. Identify potential new affiliate clients, negotiate contracts and launch Bloomberg TV Latam and/or Brazil feed.
- Manage relationship with new and current pay-tv partners.
- Renew agreements with small/medium Pay-TV systems, Video On Demand and OTT content providers for Bloomberg TV content.
- Work with Market Insights team to adapt sales collateral materials for Bloomberg TV pan-regionally.
- Generate strong relationships with internal departments to ensure optimal implementation of projects
- Oversee all forms and compliance records for local Brazilian authorities/ANCINE and similar requirement for Argentina on ongoing monthly basis.
- Create or maintain data base of regional Pay-TV, VOD, OTT companies in the region; Bloomberg TV affiliates, prospects, contracts, contacts.
- Work with finance team on quarterly budget assessments and forecasting projections for each country in the region.
- Responsible for relationship with internal accounting department. Oversee and resolve billing issues with small and medium size operators.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BA/BS degree and/or 3-5+ years’ relevant experience with a global media company.
- Able to work effectively across cultures, and to communicate business goals.
- Independent thinker able to work across multiple business units and multiple projects.
- Experience working in Latin American markets.
- Fluent Spanish language required; Portuguese desirable.
- Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint a must.
