Senior Appraiser - Real Estate - Valuation Research Corporation - Milwaukee, WI

Currently our Milwaukee office has an immediate opening for an experienced commercial/industrial senior real estate appraiser. This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will be responsible for providing clients with research and valuation analysis to determine the value of their real estate assets. We support a wide range of client interests, from financing and purchase price allocations (mergers and acquisition support), to financial reporting and due diligence. This spans a wide spectrum of institutional property types including commercial and industrial complexes, transportation centers, office facilities, healthcare facilities, and retail developments. Our work includes both national and international locations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform in-depth industry, market, and competitor research
  


• Perform local, national, and international real estate market analysis on a wide range of public and private entities using all accepted and relevant approaches and theory
  


• Design valuation models for discounted cash flow analysis (Argus and Excel), comparable property sales models, and construction cost models
  


• Independently gather data pertinent to the engagement through direct client interaction, including personal and telephone interviews with brokers and property managers
  


• Review industry surveys and benchmarks, economics, and demographic trends
  


• Assist with preparing and presenting the results of our analysis in a clear and concise manner
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science/Business Administration in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, MS in Real Estate, MS in Finance, or MBA from an accredited college or university
  


• Minimum three years of experience in real property valuation or consulting
  


• Candidate for MAI (Member of Appraisal Institute) and state licensed as a Certified General Appraiser
  


• Solid foundation of valuation principals and methodology as they relate to the analysis of fee and leasehold/leased fee real estate interests
  


• Strong analytical, comprehension, and problem solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
  


• Direct experience in meeting the requirements of purchase price allocation under ASC 805 and providing support through the audit review process a plus
  


• Ability to master new tasks quickly
  


• Demonstrated leadership and strong personal integrity
  


• Must be quality-oriented, self-starting, and able to work independently as well as part of a team given our complex multi-discipline assignments
  


• Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment
  


• Demonstrated commitment to obtaining outstanding results
  


• Moderate travel – typically 25%
