VP, Human Resources Consulting, Europe and Latin America - Prudential - Newark, NJ

Prudential International Insurance (PII) continues to be one of Prudential’s fastest growing and most profitable business groups. PII has operations in eleven countries around the world (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, China, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Poland, and Italy) and is looking to fill a VP, Human Resources Consulting position for Europe & Latin America Region based in Newark, New Jersey.


The position will report to VP Human Resources, International Business with a dotted line reporting to the Regional President and have overall responsibility for directing and managing the human resources activities for the Region.

The position will maintain strategic partnership with line management to ensure that human resources programs fully support business goals and objectives. The position will provide a variety of solutions regarding human capital needs / risks; interpret business labor trends and influence business leaders to develop and execute the strategic HR agenda for growth of the business.

ave constructive engagement with the operating companies (Company Presidents, HR Executives and Executive Officers), playing both a governance and consulting role.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for development and execution of strategic HR agenda for the Region aligned with business strategies and priorities

  • Maintain strong partnerships with line management to influence local HR strategies, policies and programs; bring PII knowledge, expertise and best practices to companies helping them address HR challenges and opportunities effectively

  • Ensure executive positions are staffed with high quality talent with potential for long term growth in Prudential; work with local management to ensure deployment of effective programs and tools to attract, develop and retain executive talent. Lead the hiring process for CEO position

  • Facilitate roll out of Corporate Compensation programs to companies (LTI, PESP, Grading etc.), oversee effective utilization and execution of these programs in the region

  • Ensure implementation of Corporate Succession Management process and programs in the Region; provide education and consulting support to upgrade the quality of talent and leadership; ensure a healthy succession bench for enterprise and local positions. This requires partnering with local HREs, CPs, PII HR, Functional Heads and the Talent Organization to ensure alignment and support

  • Through strategic workforce planning process ensure companies identify capabilities critical to future growth of business; consult on actions to develop critical capabilities and ensure senior leader engagement

  • Consult with local HREs, CPs and the RP on HR issues; this would include a range of issues from BAU to strategic, identify HR risks and mitigation actions to ensure protection of Prudential’s interests in the countries we operate

  • Ensure our companies embody Prudential’s culture that makes us distinct and successful; ensure presence of robust communication channels that meet employee’s needs including two way communications

  • As a member of Regional team participate in business meetings to identify HR issues proactively and their resolution; provide strategic change management guidance

  • Responsible for HRC support to Regional staff

  • Partner the M&A process in the region; provide HR leadership in due-diligence and integration activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required, advanced degree preferred. The person should be a PHR/SPHR

  • Experience as an HR Consultant supporting business unit(s) on various aspects of HR domain

  • M&A expertise is strongly desired; experience in HR due diligence and integration will be of high value

  • Strategic mindset

  • Multi-cultural sensitivity

  • International experience and language abilities is an advantage

  • Ability to travel 25% of time
