Description


Role PurposeDevelops and implements systems to compile information for various federal, state, and local reports.Ensures timely and accurate filing of tax returns. Recommends ways to minimize corporate tax through use of tax laws and regulations.May administer international tax laws and regulations.Duties & Responsibilities:
– Assist in identifying and executing tax planning opportunities, including modeling, process simplification, and tax restructuring.
– Coordinating with Treasury, Accounting and Legal functions on funding needs, intercompany invoice settlements, and forecasting.
– Facilitate development of tax reporting data for LatAm Regional Tax Director review.
– Analyze proposed LatAm tax legislation and advise on its impacts on TR’s tax position.
– Coordinate with Compliance and facilitate LatAm tax compliance process and relationship with service provider, including assisting with LatAm income tax and transfer pricing audits.
– Assist LatAm Head of Tax to ensure transfer pricing relationships are identified and in compliance with global and local transfer pricing policies & methodologies.
– Train, develop, and coach direct reports as well as development of career progression plans for team.
– Establish and monitor adherence to budgets, schedules, work assignments and performance requirements.
– Focus on developing practices that improve coordination with multiple Business Units.
– Share tax best practice within tax and with other Business Units.Key Requirements
– Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, JD or Masters in Tax required. MBA or CPA a plus.
– Minimum of 10 years of tax and accounting experience with a MNC corporate tax department, law firm or accounting firm.
– Strong LatAm and cross-border tax technical knowledge combined with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
– Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, coordinate and delegate assignments and review work of assigned staff.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
– Excellent ability to identify and frame issues as well as the ability to act on findings and make well communicated decisions and recommendations.
– Excellent ability to be proactive, positive and forward thinking around planning and solutions.
– Excellent ability to work well with other corporate functions (e.g., Legal, Treasury, Finance) in a cross-cultural and diverse global MNC environment and to build and maintain relationships within tax and cross-functional.
– Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
– Working knowledge of IFRS and local statutory (tax) accounting rules.
– Organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
– Fluent in English & Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
