Your Function:
Job Overview/Purpose:
The Candidate will display a strong focus in understanding the needs of the Finance Community especially in the realm of financial reporting requirements. The candidate will work with product controllers and other finance staff to implement the appropriate controls and reviews to produce the necessary financial statement reports. The candidate will be reviewing new accounting pronouncements and understand how those accounting changes will affect the Bank and our financial statements. The candidate will prepare US GAAP disclosures and coordinate the quarterly ALLL process and memo. The person will have extensive dealings with the FRBNY, members of finance and senior management.
Context of Job:
This position reports directly to the Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting who is part of the Regional Finance team.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Be part of the team that produces and analyzes the quarterly and annual financial reports.
Develop and implement the appropriate controls and reviews to ensure data quality
Recognize potential problem situations and analyze/reconcile data to arrive at logical conclusions and make sound business decisions.
Create automated reconciliation processes for continued value added financial analysis.
Manages regional data loads and ensures integrity of consolidated data
Help implement and test the implementation of an automated reporting system
Your Profile:
Qualifications:
Accounting/Finance degree a must with a solid information technology experience a plus.
Broad knowledge basis for general ledger /Regulatory reporting controls and infrastructure.
CPA a plus
Proficient in Excel, Word, MS Project
Job Skills and Knowledge:
At least 5 years Financial statement reporting experience is needed. Preferably with a FBO.
Overall 7 plus years in Accounting and/or financial services
Adept to learning different source systems and analyzing impact other source systems have to Finance General Ledger (Knowledge Peoplesoft a plus)
