Network Systems Administrator - International Studies Abroad - Austin, TX





General description:
International Studies Abroad is a study abroad provider with 29 destination

countries that that encompass 73 distinct and exciting cities. ISA has been

providing quality study abroad programs for U.S. college students since 1987.

Our study abroad program sites include a variety of cities in Argentina,

Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic,

Dominican Republic, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland,

Italy, Japan, Jordan, Morocco, New Zealand, Peru, Scotland, South Africa, South

Korea, Spain, Thailand, and Turkey. We provide short-term faculty-led programs

through ISA Custom Programs; experiential programming through the ISA

Internships and ISA Service-Learning divisions and also provide study abroad

programs for high school students through our sister company ISA High School.

Working closely with the host universities abroad, ISA provides students with a

study abroad experience that is academically challenging and culturally

rewarding.

Summary of Duties:
The Network Systems Administrator will be responsible for implementing,

operating, and maintaining all network components for LAN/WAN. Additionally,

this person will manage and maintain other network systems, including server

infrastructure, storage, and backups. This person will contribute greatly to

the implementation of policies and procedures that ensure network system

provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with organization goals,

industry best practices, and security requirements – with a focus on

continuous availability and security of all systems. Additionally, the

candidate will be required to participate in a 24×7 rotational coverage

approximately one week per month.


Job Functions:


  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure components (routers, switches,

firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, etc.) primarily comprised of Cisco equipment.

Identify and resolve sometimes complex network connectivity or outage issues.


  • Contribute to the evolving architecture of our network infrastructure to meet

changing requirements for scaling, reliability, performance, and manageability.


  • Troubleshoot server issues, both physical and virtual (VMware) in all areas –

including hardware, operating system, and software application levels.


  • Monitor server storage and backup systems for proper functionality.

  • Provide recommendations in the design, testing, and implementation of various

network systems and components.


  • Participate in interdepartmental collaboration with and support of other IT

team members.


Skills:
CCNA Certification (minimum) and 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.


Strong knowledge of Cisco UI (ASDM, Configuration Professional tools) is valued.


Experience with both Linux and Windows servers in a VMware environment

preferred.


Advanced level understanding of VMware ESXi and related tools desired.


Bachelor’s Degree in related Information Technology field is preferred but not

required.
