Communications Strategy Lead based in Atlanta, GA

Position Overview


As Communications Strategy Lead you will be a communications leader in the organization, responsible for establishing and executing innovative, effective communications and engagement strategies that support both GBS baseline communications routines, vehicles and messaging (e.g. quarterly town hall events, monthly e-newsletters, and internal site content).


In this role you will be responsible for direct people leadership of Communications Specialists (including development and coaching) who partner with the Change Execution Specialists and Change Leads to support communications needs emerging from client change management initiatives.


You will design repeatable, scalable communications and engagement solutions that serve as a model for other partner functions who don’t have the same resourcing as this practice. In addition, you will manage the planning and resourcing of communications talent to deliver priority communications plans tied to baseline needs and change initiatives as agreed in the annual business planning process.


Key Responsibilities


Partner with GBS President and Director, GBS Strategy, Change and Communications to articulate messaging tied to GBS organization’s vision/mission (our GBS Promise), our strategic and annual business plan, key initiatives and the GBS capabilities to drive competitive advantage.

Build innovative and effective communications and engagement strategies that inform, involve and excite all GBS associates, clients and partners.

Work with Communications Specialists and Capability Deployment Lead to manage plans for all communications (baseline, one-time periodic and tactical communications tied to change initiatives).

H elp prepare and finalize core messages to ensure the use of appropriate language in communicating with all audiences in order to drive understanding, support and maintain consistency and accuracy of communications.

Create appropriate communications materials (e.g. town halls, presentations, written communications newsletter and site content, FAQs, talking points, emails, video scripts) for all audiences.

Distribute communications to key audiences using various methods (e.g., webcasts, videoconferences, internet/intranet channels, subscription email blast services) in order to reach key constituencies.

Consolidate and scales all creative development and execution (visual identities, design, materials development such as video, presentations, logos, print, website content) to the Coca-Cola Studios Creative Lead to help focus Communications Specialists on message development and written communications.

Establish management routines, vehicles, performance and development plans for Execution Specialists, develops and leads roadmap of activities to accomplish baseline communications across GBS

Liaise with Corporate Communications partners (PAC) to support and align with Company-wide initiatives and messaging to ensure strong connection to Company priorities and business activities.

Serve as external media connection to Public Affairs partners in cases of GBS changes, announcements and communications that may spark media interest of coverage, as well ensuring GBS external presentations across all lines of business are consistent with external media and communications guidelines.

As part of Global Change Practice leadership team, help lead Global Change Practice routines, processes and activities, build community and visibly demonstrate change leadership capability.

What you need to be successful


As you will work across all geographies of GBS and business teams and environments, being multi-lingual will be a plus but is not mandatory. You will, however, profit from cultural sensitivity and an open mindset .


In this role you will lead a team of Communications Specialists and interpret the GBS vision and mission in creative, meaningful ways that ultimately move GBS associates from understanding to ownership. Therefore, effective communications and engagement routines will need to be created and evolve over time reflecting specific audiences, history, cultural context, organization and individual leadership styles. Furthermore, a strong alignment between the Coca-Cola Connect team, Coca-Cola Studios creative staff, GBS leadership team and PAC partners will be required.

As Communications Strategy Lead you will develop specific, relevant and understandable communications and engagement activities that will resonate with a broad range of GBS and client stakeholders from senior executives to line employees in different locations around the world. So you will need the capability to build effective, scalable and repeatable communications strategies for use in direct, targeted, tactical communications emerging from change initiatives from the Change Lead and Change Execution Specialists that will be executed by the Communications Specialists.


If on top of all of that you are a strong influencer and decision-maker and have a good sense for making choices about most effective communications and engagement routines and vehicles, adopting strategies that are informed by industry best practices , you’re just the one we’re looking for.


Education : Bachelor´s Degree mandatory, Master´s Degree preferred.


Related Work Experience: This role requires a minimum of 7-10 years deep experience in designing and delivering communications in a global environment, in consulting and in enterprise-wide communications.


Functional Skills


Active membership in industry organizations (e.g. IABC International Association of Business Communicators or PRSA) helpful

Inspirational Leadership, Influencing, Balancing immediate and short term needs, delivers results, strategic communications and visioning, business development

Strong communications, storytelling and engagement skills paired with the ability to develop similar capability into Communications Specialists.

Multi-lingual skills will be a plus but are not mandatory.
