Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) has global operations which encompass motion picture production, acquisition and distribution; television production, acquisition and distribution; television networks; digital content creation and distribution; operation of studio facilities; and development of new
entertainment products, services and technologies. SPE’s television operations produce and/or distribute approximately 60 programs worldwide, spanning all formats and genres. With an extensive library of TV programs and motion pictures, the company also grants licensing rights to customers which include U.S. and international broadcast and cable networks, U.S. local television stations, and digital services. Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has formed or invested in international networks with 148 channel feeds in 178 countries, reaching approximately 1.2 billion cumulative households worldwide. SPT also produces local language programming and has licensed SPT-owned
formats in approximately 75 countries globally. Additionally, SPT operates Crackle.com, a premium video website, featuring high-quality original
content, as well as TV shows and feature films.
The SPT Latin America Networks On-Air Creative department is recruiting for a Spectrum Summer Intern. The Spectrum Summer Internship Program is a 40-hour/week commitment, lasting from mid-June through mid-August. Applicants must be available for the entire session and should also be in good
academic standing.
The SPT Networks On-Air Creative department is responsible for creative and cohesive promotions and editorial content, in order to effectively promote the Networks’ programming. The On-Air Creative department is headed up by the Vice President, and split into various specialty functions including
On Air Promotions, Short Formats, On Air Marketing and Creative Services. The On-Air Creative department has offices in Miami, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.
Internship Learning Opportunities/Experiences:
Proposed projects:
- Pop Campaign-Phase 4.
- Fall Campaign for both AXN and Canal Sony.
- Affiliates sizzle reel for Fall Upfront Season.
- Versioning and conversion for On-Air spots.
- On-Air Creative Network plan for the last 2 quarters of the fiscal year.
- Develop promotional techniques, multiplatform communications, and brand knowledge.
Qualifications
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in all aspects of digital video production, including choosing appropriate music, editing, storytelling and working together with graphics.
- Experience using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier required (latest version).
- Strong communication skills, including full fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Strength in creative writing and post-production.
- Strong problem solving skills, flexible and resourceful.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize well.
- Enthusiasm and aptitude for working in a collaborative corporate environment.
- Some understanding of television industry is preferred.
- Team-oriented individual who is creative and imaginative.
Experience:
Previous internship experience is preferred.
Education:
Working towards a Bachelor’s degree (preference for students in Junior/Senior year). Concentration in audiovisual production and postproduction and/or a related field is preferred.
