Senior Financial Analyst - AstraZeneca - Newark, DE
Your Typical Accountabilities:
Participate in the planning and implementation of projects
Plan, direct and coordinate month end close procedures ensuring accurate and timely reporting to key customers in accordance with AZ policies
Prepare monthly Performance Report providing relevant information to the individual Sites Leadership Teams on actual performance
Provide robust explanations and analytical insight of significant actual vs. forecast variances and/or trends to key customers
Support the Business Partner (BP) in the construction, analysis and review of financial forecasts (Quarterly updates, Annual Budgets & Long Range Business Plans).
Collect forecasted data and prepares submission Regional/Global customers in alignment to AZ procedures
Support the BP in the preparation of narratives and ad hoc analysis of the financial forecasts
Lead the forecasting, monthly reporting and business partnering for the following areas: Site cost, Capital, Direct Materials/PPV and Storeroom
Support the preparation and presentation of financial information (ABU/RBU) to Finance and Operations Leadership
Perform various site accounting activities related to month-end close including; preparation of journal entries, analyze and ensure accuracy of monthly and year-to-date overhead cost spending, analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, preparing consolidated site performance reports, prepare commentary on performance variance, and report monthly results to Site BP and USBC Operations Finance
In collaboration with the USBC Fixed Asset group, lead the sites coordination of the annual fixed asset audit/verification
Act as Finance lead on cross-functional project teams providing financial support and expertise
Identify and Implement continuous improvement opportunities
Provide training and guidance to Finance and Operations Business Partners
Prepare financial models and analysis, to support management decision-making as required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 5-7 years of accounting/finance experience
Advanced understanding of accounting principles required
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop recommendations
Strong communication, presentation, organizational planning and business partnering skills required
Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint) functionality
Ability to influence cross functionally
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic work environment
Strong drive for results
Bilingual preferred, Spanish and/or Portuguese. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from internal customers.
CPA or equivalent
SAP/BI experience
