Job Purpose:
The HR Associate Manager will support and advise IB staff, line management, other stakeholders and HR colleagues for specific HR issues relating to Compensation and Benefits. This position provides specialized HR support to the Washington, DC Global Center including Buenos Aires, Argentina staff with focus on compensation & benefits. .


Job Duties:


  • Overall responsible for correct employee data in the various benefits and payroll systems (content)

  • responsible for the delivery of the applicable reports (periodic) with correct content

  • Timely follow-up of timelines and actions for employee queries

  • Adequate support to the HR Shared Services administrators in cases of an escalation

  • The employee will give specific HR support and advice to complex queries to IB staff and line management, HR Partners and Centre of excellence related to compensation & benefits

  • Support compensation and benefit escalations of queries •

  • Responsible for engagement by the IB staff and management of the HR policies and processes. Expert in providing advice and assistance on the local compensation and benefits policies and practices.,

  • Evaluates and compares existing IBO benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information. Plans, develops, and/or participates in area and industry surveys.

  • The role is responsible for defining regional terms and conditions of employment.

  • The employee is responsible for monitoring and reviewing the regional terms and conditions resources such as Employee handbook, Q&A and benefits summary documents (two times a year). Supports IB staff in content queries about the local benefit portal.

  • Employee will negotiate with local external benefit providers such as pension and insurance companies about the terms and conditions and is responsible for the relationship management with the local vendors. Employee will take the lead in the implementation of new programs from the Centre of Excellence in the location.

  • Employee is responsible for up to date content of the regional benefits portal, Compensation and Benefit documentation and information in other HR systems/portals/documents.

  • The role will take the lead in implementation of new / updated programs related to compensation and benefits introduced by the Centre of Excellence.

  • Employee is capable to negotiate terms and conditions with new employees and provide the correct information about the Compensation & Benefits within the IB to the new employee.

  • Employee is capable to negotiate terms and conditions with external parties (pension provider, insurance company, etc)

  • Employee is responsible for the vendor management of local compensation and benefits providers

  • Lead in the regional payroll process and provides the HR Shared Services administrator with the correct content and calculations.

  • Monitor and review the regional policies and processes.

  • Serves as a signaling role to line management and IB staff.

  • Shares trends in HR topics with HR colleagues.

  • Provide updated information about the main subjects that play within the Americas region.

  • Support HR Shared Services administrator and delivers the required content within the agreed timelines.

  • Serve as the bridge between HR Partner, line management and Centre of excellence.

  • Manages and communicates benefit, retirement and wellness programs, ensure statutory compliance with FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, OSHA, and HIPAA, oversee annual filings and audits as well as administer LOA programs

  • The role will independently decide when to escalate cases to Head of Human Resources, HR Partner and/or Centre of Excellence

  • Employee will take the lead in regional communications to employees of HR related topics.

  • Employee will share relevant information with HR Partner, Centre of Excellence and Head of Shared services.

  • Employee has up to date knowledge about the local legal aspects, global policies and regional.

  • Ensure compliance reporting for benefits is completed timely

  • Quarterly pension reports are filed each quarter

  • Manages benefit plan audits, including preparation government regulatory form 5500 filings.

  • Completes the reconciliation of monthly health insurance, accidental death and dismemberment and life insurance bills

  • Completes the reconciliation of monthly health insurance, accidental death and dismemberment and life insurance bills. Reviews billings for accuracy, codes and advances for payment. Resolves discrepancies with carriers, payroll, and the company.

Job Requirements:

  • Education at appropriate academic level, e.g. Bachelor’s degree in a related field to HR Management or MBA, Master of Human Resource Management.

  • Significant working experience in a generalist HR role or compensation and benefits specialist role in an international organization

  • Knowledge of employee benefit plans and legal HR issues

  • Knowledge of local/regional compensation and benefit practices

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • High degree of confidentiality

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with staff and employees at all levels of the organization

  • Problem solving skills • Fluency in English and Spanish

  • Knowledge of the IB, IB Programmes or being an IB Alumni is a plus
