About this position…
Professional Services Instructional Designer Intel Security Professional Services is seeking an instructional designer to develop security education and technical training curriculum. Our security education courses help security professionals around the world successfully plan, deploy and manage Intel Security solutions while gaining the critical skills to identify threats and mitigate risk. The Professional Services Instructional Designer will apply their knowledge of adult learning concepts to set course vision within established models to create courseware across a variety of Intel Security solutions for classroom, virtual classroom and eLearning environments. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Product Management, Product Engineering, Product Support, and other subject matter experts to develop highly technical course materials primarily for an external audience.
What you will do…
- Research Intel Security products, releases, and security industry practices to provide input to course design -Conduct a needs assessment, develop project plans, estimate level of effort, and provide accurate risk assessments for assigned projects -Manage all aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion -Meet deadlines and reprioritize as needed to complete timely delivery of curriculum -Manage course learning requirements against existing materials and emerging trends to develop solutions based curriculum -Work across the organization for development of technical and engaging course materials including presentation slides, student guides, lab guides, and instructor notes contributing to accurate, measurable, outcome-based training -Present technical information of sufficient scope and depth to cover course topics at a product and solution level relevant to the intended audience -Develop technical lab exercises to provide students with experience in the practical application of Intel Security products to keep their organizations safe from attacks. -Deliver beta classes to internal employees and, as needed, teach released classes to customers. -Incorporate feedback from instructors and students to improve course quality, reduce errors or omissions, and enhance learning objectives -Contribute to improvement of education services processes and procedures Qualifications
Qualifications: You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Instructional Design, or 4+ years equivalent work experience -4+ years of instructional design / curriculum development experience with a solid knowledge of adult learning principles -Experience with advanced features of Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe FrameMaker, and Adobe Captivate -Ability to communicate effectively in visual, oral, and written form -Ability to present information in a manner that is engaging, stimulates imagination and an understanding of the solutions that align to course objectives -Excellent attention to detail -Ability to work cross-functionally and maintain and regularly update multiple project schedules -Proven project and time management skills in an environment where you may be contributing to several projects simultaneously -Experience creating job task analysis, competency inventories, course plans, assessments, exercise guides for new and existing products, courses and/or program components within a cross-functional team -Proven content design and development experience with an ability to create courseware in multiple delivery formats
Additional Qualifications: You should have at least 4 years’ experience in one or more of the following: -Experience designing and developing highly technical courseware and labs -Technical experience installing and configuring virtual machines in an ESX or equivalent environment -Experience with Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems, including the command line
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience preferably in the technology sector -MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP or related technical certifications preferred -CISSP, SSCP, CISA, CISM or related security certifications preferred -Experience with Intel Security products preferred
