Director, Facilities Services – Americas - Groupon - Chicago, IL





Position Responsibilities Manage the facility-related operations and capital projects for 40+ locations in US, Canada, Mexico and South America where over 4,000 employees work including fulfillment warehouses for Goods operations in US and Argentina and data centers in US. Directly supervise a team of over 20 employees. Drive operational efficiencies and process standardization to reduce multi-million-dollar facility expense in region. Lead facility management procurement efforts to consolidate vendors and standardize purchases of services, furniture, fixtures and office equipment.

Define scope of services and negotiate agreements, maintain a consolidated contracts database. Appropriately manage service levels and the related operating expenses within our facilities and offices. Initiate and lead the involvement of internal cross-functional teams in Security, Finance, IT, Legal and HR as appropriate to ensure that daily operations, office services and projects are effectively managed and follow all corporate processes and guidelines. Lead scope definition, planning, budget development and project management for new office or facility space planning, moves, fit-outs, renovations and new equipment installations.


Work closely with Finance in preparing and managing annual operational budgets. Job Requirements/ Specifications: Degree in facility/property management, real estate, construction or related field. Additional licensing and/or certification or master’s degree preferred. 10+ years managing multiple facilities across large geographic area, including a corporate headquarter required; international facility management experience preferred.


5+ years leading direct staff and contract service vendors across a region; preferred experience with both insourced and outsourced staffing models Experience leading regional procurement efforts, negotiating and managing multi-million dollar budgets Construction/capital project management experience, managing space planning and move processes, architects, design and engineering teams and contractors. Experience with data centers, fulfillment warehouses and corporate headquarter locations preferred. Able to effectively work with multiple remote teams across a region. Detail-oriented, flexible, creative, fast-paced, customer-first, able to work effectively with both C-suite management as well as junior support staff.


Excellent communication/presentation and strong spreadsheet/analytic skills. Occasional overnight domestic and week-long international travel required. Conversant in a second language a plus.
