Development Specialist (Fundraiser) - Progressive Agriculture Foundation - Remote

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and other Development Specialists in maintaining existing sponsors and securing new sponsors for the Progressive Agriculture Foundation.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for all day-to-day foundation sponsor fundraising activities for an assigned region.

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and presenting proposals for new sponsor revenue.

  • Responsible for sponsor and prospective sponsor records.

  • Keeps sponsors and prospective sponsors up-to-date on foundation activities through correspondence, one-on-one in-person meetings, group meetings and publications.

  • Communicates regularly with foundation staff so that all are knowledgeable and accurate in their representation of the program.

  • Organizes and prioritizes assigned work, and schedules time to accommodate work demands, turnaround-time requirements, and commitments.

  • Uses interpersonal skills effectively to build and maintain cooperative working relationships.

  • Ensures the confidentiality of all internal foundation matters including but not limited to personnel records, pay structures, disciplinary actions, financial data, operational activities and all matters relating to the program and foundation.

  • Ability to travel 35 percent of the time (includes overnight stays).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.

  • Minimum of three years experience in fundraising, and/or equivalent education/skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, computer, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Possess the ability to maintain the flexibility, patience, and understanding needed to work with and gain the support of sponsors and individual donors.

  • Possess a value system and work ethic that reflects positively on the program and foundation.

  • Must have valid driver’s license and a passport to travel outside the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum of three years experience in a professional fundraising environment with a proven ability to obtain major gifts.

  • Certified Fund Raising Executive

  • Multi-lingual (English/French/Spanish).

The Progressive Agriculture Foundation is the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides the training and resources needed for local communities to conduct one-day Progressive Agriculture Safety Days® for children. Resources include training manuals on how to organize a Safety Day and how to teach more than 27 safety and health lessons to children ages 8 to 13. Each lesson includes numerous hands-on activities that are safe, fun and age-appropriate. Since its’ beginning in 1995, the program has reached more than 1.4 million children and adult volunteers through more than 6,000 Safety Days in the U.S., the U.S. territories and Canada. The program is licensed for use in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.
