Responsibilities:
Topps Digital is looking for a Temporary Quality Assurance Associate to help improve and support the full suite of Topps Digital apps, including STAR WARS: Card Trader, BUNT, KICK, HUDDLE, The Walking Dead Card Trader, as well as other unannounced new products.


This temporary assignment can last up to 6-months in duration and based on individual performance and business need the assignment can extend longer or end sooner than the 6-month timeframe.


As a Quality Assurance Associate, you will be responsible for product quality across all current versions of our products, as well as help us develop and deliver great new franchises going forward. The Quality Assurance Associate will be part of a new team of talented veterans that will build, improve, and support the next generation of F2P mobile and tablet games. You will also help us establish the culture within our new Orlando area studio. Please note: candidates must be able to work in our Orlando studio.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR


  • Solid understanding of the game development process, especially QA around web and mobile games

  • Eagerness and positive attitude while working in an Agile team

  • Programing experience or familiarity with Selinum, Robot framework, or other automated frameworks

  • Understanding of the concepts of using tests to document requirements and drive development

  • An understating of Agile testing or an interest in learning how to work with an Agile team

  • Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to all development disciplines

  • Have a passion for software quality and be a champion for the end user

  • Knowledge and fandom of football, soccer, baseball, The Walking Dead, and/or Star Wars is a plus

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Collaborate closely with production, art, and design in an Agile, small team environment to achieve best results

  • Create test plans and procedures, possibly including automated test scripts based on design documents

  • Ability to determine root cause of issues found

  • Ensure stability, performance, reliability, and usability across all features and products

  • Communicate issues, risks, and test status in a timely and detailed manner

  • Take on multiple activities and respond to change

  • Estimate QA effort in story points

  • Ensure that the team delivers the quality our customers need

  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and quality across the engineering organization from a QA perspective

  • Help build a new team and define studio culture

Qualifications:
WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of QA experience

  • Web and mobile testing or Internet gaming experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems and QA challenges

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent shifts in areas of focus

  • Experience with smartphone development (iOS or Android)

  • Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, organized, and ability to multi-task
