The Topps Company was founded in 1938 as Topps Chewing Gum, and in its early years produced a popular penny “Topps Gum” from a factory in Brooklyn, NY. After World War II, the company developed Bazooka Bubble Gum, and in 1950, added trading cards to its product line. Responsibilities:
Topps, with a brand portfolio including: Major League Baseball, Star Wars, WWE, Champions League, English Premier League, UFC, Garbage Pail Kids, Major League Soccer, Mars Attacks and Mysticons is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to spearhead growth initiatives for our New York City headquarters. Proactive, high-energy, partner-focused influencers with excellent communication and relationship building skills and passion for global soccer will be particularly attracted to this challenging and rewarding position.

Youth soccer league and/or tournament knowledge a huge plus
Entrepreneurial spirt that shines through projects and the flexibility, stamina and drive to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
Creative, grass roots marketer who can ideate, galvanize ideas of others, see opportunities in both traditional and unusual places and bring them to life
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Assist in ideating, developing, presenting and executing business-building programs and promotions through building relationships and comprehensively understanding, consumers, customers, partners and the value Topps brings to each audience
Act as a brand ambassador to all audiences while running product demos, planning and managing events and product promotion opportunities to drive awareness and excitement
Partner with Sales in identifying and securing new distribution opportunities and marketing placement programs
Coordinate promotional activities with teams and partners within budget including creation and procurement of promotional materials and performance evaluation
Leverage understanding and potential of social media to drive and amplify programs
Collaborate extensively with other Topps divisions including Digital and International to share ideas, insights, best practices, competitive activity and leverage joint marketing programs
Qualifications:
WHAT YOU HAVE
1-3 years marketing, event management, PR, sales, project management experience required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, marketing a plus
Strong sense of urgency with proven ability to multi-task, manage cross-functional team collaboration and effectively prioritize multiple projects required
Outstanding attention to detail, analytic skills and organizational skills required
Willingness and ability to travel
Strong computer skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) required
Passion for and experience with sports and/or kids entertainment a big plus
Understanding of hobby, fan and/or gaming community dynamics a big plus
Passionate, energetic business style required
